Growing up idolized Steffi Graf and to date she trains with the record-breaking champion at her home in Las Vegas. “When I met her, she told me to believe in myself, I am in a good way and go for it. She knows that I really am working very hard and she told me some day, the work pays off and tonight, it is really, really like she said, all the work and yes, sweating on practice courts, it comes out and it pays off”.
Torben Beltz is her old-new German certified tennis coach. She has been working with him since 2003 until 2013, when she added Benjamin for another two years to her coaching team. In February 2015 she parted ways with Benjamin and brought Beltz back as the main coach.
While Kerber was working with Benjamin, Torben remained one of the tennis coaches at the Angelique Kerber Tennis Academy.
2007 was Kerber's Grand Slam debut year. She competed in her first Grand Slam main draw at the French Open where she lost to Elena Dementieva in the opening round.
Her breakthrough came when she reached the 2011 US Open SFs, when she was ranked world No. 92.
In 2012, Kerber moved to Puszczykowo, where her maternal grandfather built the Tennis Academy 'Angie' for her.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Kerber won an Olympic silver medal while representing Germany.
Won 10 singles titles, most notably her two major titles—the first at the 2016 Australian Open, and the second eight months later at the 2016 US Open.
On 12 September 2016 she reached a career-high ranking of world No. 1, becoming the 22 and oldest player to achieve the No.1 ranking for the 1st time.

As for private life: “The single life is “unfortunately” a price of success, Kerber said. As a woman, it was “very difficult to find a man who has an understanding of my life”. “My great love is Tennis – that has always been so. Tennis is the most important thing to me right now, I still have time to find a boyfriend, get married and have children, After all if there is one guy out there waiting for me, then we will find each other eventually, without forcing it.”
