  • In 2013 become the 1st first Bulgarian tennis player to reach an ATP final defeating Brian Baker, world No. 13 Milos Raonic, Jürgen Melzer, and Marcos Baghdatis to reach his first ATP singles final at the Brisbane International. Also became the 1st ever Bulgarian male tennis player to be seeded (26th) at a Grand Slam tournament.
  • On 16 December 2013 awarded for the 2nd time the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year, earning 1331 points.
  • In August 2014 reached his career-high ATP singles ranking world No. 8 together with 1st Grand Slam SF at Wimbledon.
  • In 2008 reached junior career-high world No. 1 ranking and won the Boys' Singles titles at the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open.
  • In 2015 named the only Bulgarian tennis player ever to be ranked inside the top 10 ATP Singles and received US$1m and later $6m prize money. The same year he won 20+ matches and finished in Top 50 of Emirates ATP Rankings for 4th straight season.
